On Truth and Free Speech
We are beings who will forever and ever seek happiness. Rather than accepting misfortune and bad luck as inevitable, our core way of life lies in setting our hopes for a fulfilling happiness and never giving up on its realization. Even if reality is harsh and unjust, we believe that the will to seek happiness itself is our dignity and the power that will shape our future.
On the other hand, there is also the reality that the right to speak and express oneself is unjustly restricted, and meaningful words are treated as "meaningless." Within nations and societies, freedom of speech is not always guaranteed, and not everyone has an equal opportunity to raise their voice. In the present day, where those who consider speech "freedom" and those who seek to control it as "law" are separated, we cannot accept this unjust and unfair structure of rights, which has persisted for over 100 years, as a matter of course.
There is no defense theory that justifies falsehood, and protecting oneself through lies does not lead to anyone's happiness in the long run. There should be no right to call falsehoods the truth and justify them in the name of freedom. We are beings who live by understanding and interpreting words and actions, and we are constantly forced to endure difficult statements and discourses that intentionally create confusion.
That is why the idea that "truth resides in silence" is one of the logics that sustains our lives. Even in situations where raising our voices is not permitted, the truth preserved in silence quietly breathes within us. To live is a philosophical endeavor that views the world based on truth and continues to recognize the dignity of oneself and others. Even if our ability to speak is taken away, no one can take away the heart that seeks truth and the will to never give up on happiness.

一方で、発言や表現の権利が不正に制限され、意味ある言葉が「意味なき事柄」として扱われてしまう現実も存在します。国家や社会の中では、発言は必ずしも自由ではなく、誰もが平等に声を上げられるわけではありません。発言を「自由」とみなす人と、発言を「法律」として統制しようとする人が分離している現在、私たちは100年以上も続く不正で不当な権利の構造を、当然のものとして受け入れることはできません。
虚偽を正当化する防衛理論は存在せず、嘘によって自己を守ることは、長期的には誰の幸福にもつながりません。虚偽を真実と呼び変え、自由の名のもとに正当化する権利など、本来どこにもないはずです。私たちは、言葉と行動を理解し、解釈しながら生きる生命体であり、理解することが困難な発言や、意図的に混乱を生む言説に対して、日々忍耐を強いられています。
だからこそ、「真実は沈黙に宿る」という思想が、私たちの生命を支える一つの論理となります。声を上げることが許されない状況においても、沈黙の中に守り抜かれた真実が、私たちの内側で静かに息づいています。生きるという事柄は、真実を前提にして世界を見つめ、自分自身と他者の尊厳を認め続ける思想的な営みです。たとえ言葉が奪われても、真実を求める心と、幸福を諦めない意志だけは、誰にも奪うことはできません。
